This is for you if you are looking to:
Learn a new skill
Build your portfolio
Gain experience & receive mentorship and guidance
Or preferably, all the above!
Our vision, mission, & why
Women only account for 23% of executive positions, 8.3% of Fortune 500 CEOs, and only 2% of venture capital.
We bring more young women leaders into our ecosystem to change that.
The SheUp interns are important for us to help build and cultivate our student programs to inspire even more young leaders.
-
All internships are part-time and largely self-guided, ranging from 10-20 hours/week.
-
Work with us in person or be a part of our online working ecosystem. We are proud to have team members all over the world (including Canada, South Korea, and Brazil) as well as our in our Shanghai and Hangzhou office locations.
-
Outside of our seasonal summer/winter internships, our year-round internship timelines are flexible and open for discussion.
-
All age ranges (including high school students) are welcome to apply. No experience is necessary, only a passion for personal and professional growth.
The big idea 💡
We are always looking to add passionate, excited individuals onto our team on a year-round basis, and we like to keep logistical details like hours/timelines up for discussion.

I first met Rachel K Zhang during the Why Wait?! Event, and that was my first ever encounter with adults in the business world. I still remember that on that day I was pretty lost and did not even know how to start a “business” conversation. Being forced out of my comfort zone during the event made me feel so empowered, and that my identity was more than “a student,” and that was when Rachel introduced me to the SheUp internship.
-
I wanted to learn and absorb everything about startups and entrepreneurship, I wanted to learn how startups operate, how did people start companies, and understand how it is possible because it seemed like such a distant dream to be. Most importantly, I wanted to learn about how to communicate in a work-setting and how I could adjust better to the work environment in the future.
-
Before joining, I honestly did not know what to expect at all because I never had any experience in the “real world” before. So I did not have any expectations for my internship and joined SheUp with a completely blank mind (and with some emotions of nervousness and excitement).
Being an intern at SheUp was the first time that I conducted market research, content creation, and social media marketing, and I learned so much about startups and the entrepreneurial mindset. My favorite part was connecting and learning from the motivated, insightful, and kind people of the SheUp team. The organizational skills and work ethic/efficiency that I obtained during the internship was super helpful for school projects as well.

I found SheUp after getting in touch with one of the founders, Dani Sena.
-
I wanted to join the team because I immediately felt connected with the values of the community as I was learning and motivating myself to understand more the business world not only as competitive but cooperative and able to cause empowerment.
-
When I joined the team I hoped to learn more about marketing with a purpose. Especially learning from Rachel who had already a successful marketing background, so it could help develop these skills. Also I looked forward to proactivaly participating in an international ecosystem
Ever since I joined SheUp I have been able to look more into myself and my future goals, getting to develop my marketing skills and to write pieces, as well as learning how a company is built from scratch has given me great inspiration and new skills that I’m applying in my present professional life and surely will come handy in the future too.
